Paul Waller is known across the globe as one of Fenders highly revered Masterbuilders, a select group of the worlds most esteemed luthiers. With this Godly status, any guitar with his name attached generates a huge amount of interest, and rightly so! His builds are played by some of the worlds elite players including Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards, Buddy Guy, Nile Rodgers and possibly most famously Troy Van Leeuwen for whom he built a twin neck Jazzmaster.
The Fender Custom Shop Paul Waller Masterbuilt 53 Tan Line Tele Heavy Relic is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
With a two-piece Ash body this guitar is super resonant and has a really bold tone. The heavy relic finish gives the appearance of a well-loved 53 Tele, the finish is tanned as if a Bigsby has been installed and removed at some point. Its totally authentic and really cool. The level of attention to detail that has been applied to this guitar is simply out of this world!
The neck is crafted from plain grain Maple and features a soft V profile, its real comfortable and with a 7.25 radius and 21 vintage style frets its smooth and at home playing slick runs and crisp chords right up the neck.
Loaded with a handwound Broadcaster at the bridge and a handwound 51 Nocaster single coil at the neck you get a broad variation of tones. From clean sparkle to a raunchy growl, this guitar really is a players dream. These pickups were handwound by Fender pickup master Josefina Campos, Josefina was apprentice to Fender legend Abigail Ybarra and knows all the secrets to unlock the tonal potential of any guitar.
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. Guitars of this calibre just don't come around every day, we love it and we're pretty sure you will to!
