Jason Smith is known across the globe as one of Fenders highly revered Masterbuilders, a select group of the worlds most esteemed luthiers. With this Godly status, any guitar with his name attached generates a huge amount of interest, and rightly so!
The Fender Custom Shop Jason Smith Masterbuilt '60 Stratocaster Heavy Relic is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
With an Alder body this guitar is super resonant and has a really bold tone. The relic Candy Apple Red finish gives the appearance of a well-loved and gigged guitar, it's totally authentic and really cool. The level of attention to detail that has been applied to this guitar is simply out of this world!
The neck is crafted from Quartersawn Maple and features a '60s Oval C profile, it's real comfortable and with a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets it's smooth and at home playing slick runs and crisp chords right up the neck. The AAA Rosewood fingerboard offers a great platform for slick lead lines and bold chords right up the neck, it's a seriously nice feature.
The defining feature is the signature Ancho Poblano singlecoil pickups, getting progressively hotter from neck to bridge, they are uniquely calibrated and offer a distinct tonal flavour. Overwound by hand they are the holy grail of single coils.
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. This guitar is used but in top condition and it sounds just incredible!
