The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the double bound Fender Custom Shop '50 Telecaster they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
With the appearance of a vintage guitar this Custom Shop model benefits from all the playability and reliability of a brand new one. A premium Ash body is finished in a classic faded 2-Tone Sunburst Journeyman finish. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The Quartersawn Maple neck is also finished in nitro lacquer for a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius, 21 vintage frets and a 25.5" scale length, it's a real joy to play. With a '51 U profile, it feels great underhand.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '50 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With dual '67 Tele pickups it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
Yet another absolute stunner from the guys at the Fender Custom Shop!
