Gibson are the Kings when it comes to hollowbody guitars, since launching the ES-335 back in the '50's Gibson have been refining and improving hollowbody design.
The Gibson Memphis 1963 Block ES-335 Hand Selected TB is a modern day take on a vintage masterpiece. With timeless Gibson styling and authentic vintage appointments, it's a real statement piece. With hand selected Top and Bottom woods, it's a premium choice.
The hand selected 3-Ply Maple/Poplar/Maple body is finished in Vintage Natural and offers incredible sustain. The Mahogany neck features a Rosewood fingerboard, 1963 historic profile, 12" radius and classic vintage Gibson mother of pearl block inlays. The neck is set using genuine hot hide glue, this vintage technique is said to increase tonal response when compared with modern synthetic glue, just adding to this guitars tone monster status.
A pair of Gibson MHS humbuckers delivers authentic Gibson PAF tones, slightly underwound and with unbalanced coils, the Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers offer great tonal variety. This guitar is every bit the vintage beauty, with classic '60s mojo and styling it's as good as it was back in the day.
These Natural beauties are actually priced lower than the Sunburst and Sixties Cherry models, which is amazing considering the quality of the top on them. They are pristine and beautifully understated.
