The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop 2016 Limited Edition '50s Thinline Telecaster Relic they deliver a really unique take on Leo Fenders vision.
With the appearance of a vintage guitar this Custom Shop model benefits from all the playability and reliability of a brand new one. The Ash body is finished in a unique Dirty Sonic Burst finish, very similar to Antigua Burst; it has a really nice vintage vibe. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The Rosewood neck features a 9.5" radius for a superb modern playing action without any choking. The '57 style soft V shape and 21 Sanko 6105 frets offers a really comfortable playing experience, while the AAA grade Rosewood fingerboard adds a touch of luxury.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '50s Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand-wound Twisted Tele' pickup at the neck and a Broadcaster at the bridge, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection, it also benefits from Fenders famed Greasebucket Tone Circuit for a super-premium tone with a little extra bite!
