The new Gretsch G5441T Double Jet offers a sophisticated two-colour body design with a striking firebird red top and contrasting black back and sides. The double-cut shape allows access all the way up the neck.
Body
The chambered basswood body generates fantastic amounts of low to mid-end energy, creating great amounts of natural sustain. The arched maple top excites the lower frequencies by accentuating the upper frequencies, giving them space to cut through to create a well balanced tonal output.
The body is finished in a resilient coating of gloss polyurethane and gloss polyester, which both work hard to reduce the impact of wear and tear on the finish, and give it a lifetime of shine.
Neck
The sleek maple neck assures a supportive and reassuring feel whilst playing. The rosewood fingerboard creates a sturdy playing surface on which to flex your creative muscles. The 12" fingerboard radius is a player's dream, allowing smooth bends to be executed with the greatest of ease, whilst reducing the chance of note choke-out. The cutaway design offers greater access to the upper frets so that the entire fingerboard is yours to play with as you please.
The neck and fingerboard partnership works beautifully to deliver a "tight"-sounding articulation in every note. The generous 24.6" scale length for the strings to resonate along, improving the overall sustain significantly.
Electronics
Two BlackTop Filter'Tron humbuckers at the neck and bridge position give the G5441T a fantastic "full" sound. At the neck position, sparkling lead/rhythm tones are availible. The bridge pickup gives a nice, thumping rumble, that is great for chunky blues and rock licks. Flick the 3-way pickup selector switch to the centre position to combine a bit of both pickups for a punchy, mid tone.
Hardware
Fitted to the G5441T is an pinned Adjusto-Matic bridge with a Bigsby licensed B50 vibrato tailpiece, offering an unbelievable level of creative control over your tone. Personal inflections can be squeezed into every single note, giving you complete mastery over your tone.
The Jet-style headstock is home to vintage-style tuning machines, each one carrying their task of maintaining tuning integrity with absolute precision. The synthetic bone nut is crafted perfectly, ensuring the spacing between each string is acutely observed, no matter how much you rock out.
