When the SG debuted back in '61 it was considered pretty radical for the time, with its thin body and no nonsense styling, it clearly focussed on raw power and playability. Quickly becoming a fan favourite with players like Pete Townshend, the SG found itself a permanent member of the Gibson roster.
This Gibson Custom SG M2M is just about as good as it gets!
With the classic Mahogany body, finished in a beautiful lightly aged Pelham Blue, this SG is the same mega tone machine we all know and love. There is some incredible lacquer checking and tarnishing of the hardware on show here, it looks really authentic and the attention to detail is unreal.
The neck is topped with a lush bound Ebony fingerboard, complete with Block inlays this is a true vintage inspired masterpiece. Unlike normal Mahogany guitars, the SG is nice and light thanks to its thinline profile and simplistic design. With a 24.75" scale length and 22 medium frets, it's comfortable and super familiar.
With a trio of Gibson Custom Buckers it offers bite and a super responsive, well-rounded tone. Perfect for players looking for the authentic Gibson PAF tone, these pickups offer clarity, definition and punch. Everything you would want from an SG.
Complete with shaped hardcase and COA, this guitar is one for collectors and players alike!
