Rusty Anderson is probably best known as Paul McCartneys long time side man, since 2001 he has been the former Beatle bass mans go to lead player both on stage and in the studio. His playing career stretches much further than that though! He has played with Elton John, Joe Cocker, Neil Diamond, The Wallflowers and Willie Nelson; its pretty much a whos who of music. Back in 2013, Gibson decided it was about time to honour this guys stellar career with a killer signature model.
With its timeless design, effortless playability and rich history, it's easy to see why the Gibson ES-335 has been Rustys go to guitar for so long, this signature is designed to emulate the look and feel of a 59.
Featuring a 3-ply Figured Maple/Poplar/Maple body, it's finished in a slick, old school vibe Vintage Natural; its a classic era colour that perfectly complements this stunning guitar. Delivering a rich and authentic tone, this ES-335 is super resonant and beautifully balanced; it just oozes that vintage Gibson appeal.
The neck is something special, crafted from Mahogany; it features a gorgeous bound dark Rosewood fingerboard, embellished with pearloid dot inlays. With 22 frets and a 24.75" scale length it feels smooth and comfortable, equally at home playing slick lead work or heavy chord strumming.
A pair of CustomBucker humbuckers delivers those classic '60s tones, deep, rich and resonant they offer great clarity. These PAF style pickups feature Alnico V and Alnico II magnets for a truly historic sound, this is as good as it gets!
Complete with Gibson hardcase, its a great take on a classic design. This Rusty Anderson is used but is in great condition, it's one for players and collectors alike, a real vintage inspired classic.
