Gibson Custom's Collector's Choice #17 1959 Les Paul (#9 1062) aka "Louis", is a 1959 Les Paul authentic reissue based on the original which is owned by So-Cal rocker Keith Nelson of the band Buckcherry. As the story goes, Keith set his mind to owning his own original '59 'Burst and reached out to a friend and broker (one of the renowned Burst Brothers). In a rare opportunity, Keith spent a day playing six different vintage 'Bursts and chose his for its tone, weight, and gently worn finish. Gibson Custom worked extensively with Keith to recreate "Louis" with the usual painstaking accuracy and detail.
Just like the original, it's got a softly faded 'burst, and lightly aged finish. The pickups have been measured, and replicated, to reflect it's individual tone. Gibson Custom have used state of the art technology to create digital scans, and audio measurements to re-create the individual guitar.
The Collector's Choice #17 is a limited run of up to 300 units.
