Hand selected from the 2014 NAMM show by Peach Guitars!
This Fender Custom Shop 1965 Relic Stratocaster is reminiscent of the hot rodded strats from the Sunset Strip. And this '65 Relic Strat gives you the rock, sparkle, and vibe of the. This axe may look really old, but it sports a playable modern 9.5" radius and medium jumbo 6105 frets on its slick 65 C-shaped neck. Topped off with searing handwound Red Hot single coils, an EVH Wolfgang humbucker, and modern 5-way switch wiring, the Fender Custom Shop 1965 Relic is an electric guitar time-machine with serious attitude.
World class craftsmanship creates exceptional tone
This 1965 Heavy Relic Stratocaster boasts a one-piece quartersawn maple neck - the only choice for tone-savvy musicians. Quartersawn wood is much more rigid than flatsawn wood, which means it resonates better, which means more tone for you! It's been been topped off with a round-laminate dark rosewood fingerboard, just like Hendrix used to have! The strat is coated with the nitro lacquer finish, which is thinner than modern polyurethane finishes, will allow this '56 Strat's alder body to sing loud and clear, and resonate for days!
Hot pickups serve up full-fat, undiluted Rock
The '65 Relic Stratocaster is loaded with two Fender Custom Shop handwound 'Red Hot' single-coil pickups that deliver all the unforgettable Strat chime, but with some serious body. The bridge position is loaded with an EVH Wolfgang Zebra humbucker, so if raw heavy rock is your bag - the 1965 Relic Strat is primed, and ready to detonate!
The Heavy Relic treatment means authentic looks and feel
The Fender Custom Shop's Relic treatment starts with a period-correct nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Nitro finishes - standard back in the day - are significantly thinner, and more rigid than today's polyurethane finishes, allowing the guitar to "breathe." Nitro finishes not only look authentically vintage - they also enhance the instrument's tonal qualities. Relic guitars are then put through the aging process, so you get a perfectly made instrument that looks and feels like it's seen over four decades of front-line action. The process creates instruments that are identical replicas of the originals. Without sneaking a look at the neck heel stamps, you'd be hard-pressed to distinguish the Fender Custom Shop 1965 Heavy Relic Stratocaster from the real deal.
