Another great guitar from the Fender Custom Shop. I run out of superlatives to describe how good some of these latest Custom Shop guitars but they really are just so good and i feel that the fender Custom Shop is going through such a great period at the moment.
This Telecaster is from the transition year of '59, when Fender changed to Rosewood fingerboards and started using a Alder for a lot of their guitar bodies. This combination definitely gives a Tele a fatter low end and it takes away a little of that initial top end immediacy that some maple/ash Teles have.
This guitar is lighty aged using Fenders new "journeyman relic" process, which is on the lighter side of ageing and definitely looks like a sweet of vintage guitar that's been really well cared for over the years.
With it's light weight and thin finish, you have a really resonant guitar thats super enjoyable to play and really just sings. The handwound '58 CS pickups are of a medium output, so you can twang and rock with the best of them, without ever sacrificing the inherent Tele tone.
The neck is a '59 Esquire C shaped profile, which is a really comfy shape for those players that aren't into the baseball bat style necks of Fenders Nocaster models. Radius is the modern standard of 9.5" with medium jumbo frets.
Comes with centre pocket tweed case and certificate of authenticity.
