The Fender Custom Shop '53 Heavy Relic Telecaster takes us right back to beginning, to a time when the Tele was very much the new kid on the block. As part of the Time Machine series the '53 Heavy Relic Tele benefits from the very same techniques and tooling as the original models.
Combining the sound and style of a vintage guitar with the modern functionality of today's guitar is a real strong point for Fender. With the appearance of a vintage workhorse, this heavily relic'd Tele features a lightweight two-piece Ash body in the classic Butterscotch Blonde nitrocellulose finish. Not only is nitro lacquer period correct but it offers a greater level of tonal clarity over other thicker finishes, the wood has space to breathe and resonates much more effectively.
The tinted quarter-sawn Maple neck has a comfortable, authentic 'U' shape profile, a 9.5" radius Maple fingerboard, 21 6100 jumbo frets and a super smooth nitro finish. With the feel of an old, familiar friend this guitar demands attention!
With a pair of hand wound Custom Shop pickups this is a super slick tone machine. A Twisted Tele at the neck provides that famed Tele sparkle, while a Broadcaster sits at the bridge offering something with a little more bite. It's a match made in heaven. With the Fender Greasebucket tone circuit in place, you never lose volume when you roll back the tone control; this allows for a little more of the true pickup voice to cut through.
Yet another absolute stunner from the guys at the Fender Custom Shop!
