The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster Journeyman Relic in White they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
With the appearance of a vintage guitar this Custom Shop model benefits from all the playability and reliability of a brand new one. The lightweight Ash body is finished in a White Journeyman finish. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes.
The quarter-sawn Roasted Maple neck has been designed to provide a slightly more comfortable and modern feel than the original '50s design. With a 9.5"radius, it gives you a superb modern playing action without any choking. The playing experience is further enhanced by the Sanko 6105 frets, with 22 rather than the standard 21, it offers a slightly alternative take.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '52 Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand-wound Twisted Tele' pickup at the neck and a Broadcaster at the bridge, it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
Yet another absolute stunner from the guys at the Fender Custom Shop!
