It's always pretty cool when Fender release a new factory special run, and for August 2017 they bring us a guitar with a bit of a story behind it, the Fender FSR Ltd Ed American Professional Mahogany Stratocaster. Crafted from Honduran Mahogany salvaged in the wake of Hurricane Mitch; this wood has survived harsh forest environments and natural disasters and now finds its place in the hands of a few lucky players across the globe.
This model is not just a great collector's piece, but a real testament to the incredible build quality at Fender USA and Fenders commitment to sustainable tonewoods.
With a stunning Violin Burst finish, this FSR Strat is a real hybrid of traditional Strat design and rich, natural Mahogany construction. With a Deep C profile and Figured Maple neck, this guitar offers that real distinctive Strat feel but with just a touch more finesse. Equally at home playing big chords or intricate lead work, and with 22 narrow Tall frets, a 9.5" radius and 25.5" scale length, this Stratocaster feels familiar and supremely comfortable.
The defining feature comes in the form of the new Tim Shaw designed V-Mod single coil pickups, super dynamic and offering a multi-dimensional tone, these pups are voiced individually for each position, mixing alnico magnet types to produce powerful, balanced tones with original Fender secret sauce. With an on board treble bleed circuit; your tone will remain clear and consistent even when lowering the guitars volume.
