The Goldtone Weissenborn Slide Guitar is a super affordable take on one of the all-time classic slide guitar designs, the Weissenborn. These Hawaiian Steel slide guitars were crafted before World War 1 and were unique in their construction and distinctive tone, Goldtone have managed to deliver a truly authentic recreation.
With a Sapele construction, and a slick natural satin finish, they have all the aesthetic appeal of the originals. The Walnut fingerboard sits on the hollow square neck and offers a great platform for all styles of lap slide. With open gear Gotoh style tuners, a Rosewood bridge and a gig bag included, this is a great instrument for those looking to take their first steps as a lap steel player or alternatively for someone looking to replicate that classic Weissenborn tone.
Due to the original style construction, this instrument must only be played in the correct tunings and with suitable strings gauges. It comes strung with .014-.056w strings that comfortably allow for open tunings such as G (DGDGBD) and D (DADF#AD), tunings that exert excessive tension such as open E (EBEG#BE) and Dobro G (GBDGBD) are not suitable and may causing issues and will void your warranty.
