The Faith Eclipse Mercury Electro Scoop is a remarkable instrument, embodying the essence of a traditional short-scale parlour model. Unlike its counterparts, this guitar features a unique neck-to-body connection at the 12th fret rather than the conventional 14th fret. This subtle alteration reduces string tension, making it exceptionally easy to play. Moreover, this design shift positions the bridge further from the soundhole, contributing to the guitar's surprisingly voluminous sound.
The Faith Eclipse series, including this Mercury model, was conceived with the stage in mind. Crafted with the same combination of Spruce and Mahogany as the Natural Series, it sports a distinctive Black stain finish and a clear PU lacquer all around. This lacquer serves a dual purpose - it not only enhances the guitar's aesthetics but also controls tonewood resonance, resulting in a more consistent and focused tone when performing on stage.
In terms of visual appeal, Eclipse models feature solid Flamed Maple binding and employ Macassan Ebony for the fingerboard, bridge, headplate, and heelcap, adding a touch of elegance to their design.
The guitar is equipped with a Fishman INK3 preamp system, featuring a Sonicore piezo pickup situated under the saddle. This preamp includes a chromatic tuner, a 3-band EQ, and a volume control, offering versatile sound control options. Conveniently, the output jack is located at the base of the guitar as part of an accessible battery compartment.
