Matchless Amplifiers were the guys that really paved the way for this golden era of boutique amps that we currently find ourselves in. Formed back in '89 they had a rigorous R+D process and through their precise design and meticulous construction techniques, they kick started the boutique amp revolution.
The Independence 35 was the first 35 watt 3 channel guitar amplifier in Matchless' history. Aside from a great clean, this amp provides a classic thick drive and lead tone courtesy of channel 2, channel 3 is a little bit spicy and really drives hard. With a pair of EL34 power tubes, 4x 12AX7 preamp tubes and a 5AR4 rectifier valve, it's a tonal monster.
With a 3 position rotary control that allows for 4, 8 and 16 ohm cab connection, it's a great amp for the working player. Whether in the studio or on the stage, this amp delivers.
Used but in really nice condition and complete with footswitch, this Matchless is a great example of high end amp construction.
